Something I don’t believe I made clear in the article, so I want to clear up here. If I were new and did not have a step-by-step plan to provide a shit-ton of value to the audience after they join the email list, then just running with the partner program is not a bad idea at all. It helps you validate article ideas, your writing style, and when you see money coming in, it helps keep you motivated and keep going.
I have a unique opportunity because I’m the operations manager of Capitalism.com, so I’m immersed in business every day. This means I have a very clear pass on how I can writers make money writing.
That’s why I’m using this approach - each email is a human that has a problem that I 100% believe I can solve. And that makes their email more valuable to me then the income from the partner program.
It’s not that one is always better than the other, necessarily. It depends on where you are in your journey, what your strengths are, and whether you have a lplan or not.
